A word from the owners
When we visited the house for the first time before buying it, both of us had the immediate strong feeling that it was like being at home, as if it already belonged to us …
We have restored, refurbished and restyled the house in complete respect of its past, its history but also thinking of the discerning 21st century traveller.
« Aux Marquises » offers a perfect blend of yesterday’s flavours and today’s tastes.

THE HOUSE
֍ The 15th century part
A boudoir dedicated to reading, chatting or planning visits/ outdoor activities,etc…
A huge arms room ( 50 m2 ) and its listed fireplace where you can easily imagine groups of armoured knights talking about battle strategies but now turned into a place to relax, watch TV, play parlour games or even try a game of French billiards.

֍ The 18th century part
You cannot miss the striking and beautifully carved façade nor the high-ceilinged rooms, the wood-panellings, the mouldings and the wooden floors which remind us how carefully these grand and ancient houses were built.
Today, period charm meets contemporary comfort and chic as you walk across the downstairs and upstairs rooms.

A cobbled path leads to the bronze ornate frontdoor but you will be very welcome to sit in the yard sipping a glass of Saumur sparkling wine or having tea/coffee in the sun or under the 100 year-old ash tree.
